Suspected BKI terrorists arrested, explosives recovered

Kapurthala: Three suspected Babbar Khalsa International Terrorists were arrested here on Thursday and explosives recovered from them.

A police party intercepted two vehicles on Nakodar road here. A search of the occupants led to the recovery of 7.5 kg of RDX, one live bomb, two detonators and electronic devices including timers, Senior Superintendent of Police Rakesh Aggarwal said.

While three occupants of the vehicles identified as Gurinder Singh, Parminder Singh and Zorawar Singh, were arrested, their fourth accomplice managed to escape, the SSP said. During investigation, it was found that all the three arrested persons have strong links with the BKI, he said. Asked whether the arrested persons had any link with the recent bomb blasts in a Ludhiana cinema hall, the SSP did not rule out the same.PTI
