Seminar to mark end of deposit mobilisation

KASARAGOD: The valedictory function of the deposit mobilisation programme of the State Cooperative Bank named, Sahakarana Nikshepam Keraleeyam, would be held here on December 16, Kasaragod district cooperative bank president P.C. Raman said on Thursday.

At a press conference here, Mr. Raman said a seminar on Vaidyanathan Committee Report and Package for Cooperative Sector, a rally and a public meeting will be held on Sunday. State cooperative bank president Kadakampalli Surendran would inaugurate the seminar at the District Cooperative Bank hall at 10 a.m. Former member of the State Planning Board Philippose Thomas and Palakkad District Cooperative Bank president P.A. Ummer would speak.

A rally would be held from town hall premises here to new bus stand at 3 p.m. Minister for Cooperation G. Sudhakaran would inaugurate a public meeting at New Bus Stand premises here where the rally would end at 4 p.m. P. Karunakaran, MP, would be the chief guest. C.T. Ahmed Ali MLA would preside over.

C.H. Kunhambu, K.V. Kunhiraman, K. Kunhiraman and Pallipram Balan, all MLAs, would also attend. Mr. Raman said that deposits to the tune of Rs.100 crore had been mobilised from the district after the mobilisation programme began on November 1.
