Jail inmate escapes

Kota: A prisoner, who was undergoing life imprisonment here at the Central jail, managed to escape after giving a slip to the policemen at a local railway station, police said on Thursday. Convict Dilip Singh, a resident of Suniri, had gone to Jaipur along with three constables for some official work from the central jail but managed to give a slip to the constables on Tuesday night while returning, they said. The cops first tried to search the convict on their own but after failing to find him they told the seniors yesterday, they said, adding all of them were suspended forthwith.

However, a fresh alert was sounded at check posts and entry-exist points in the Hadauti region to nab the missing inmate, they said.
