Kin of accident victim to get compensation

SRIVILLIPUTTUR: The Principal District and Sessions Court Judge, V. Balasundarakumar, on Thursday awarded a compensation of Rs.4.26 lakh to the family of a commission agent, Sankar (34), who was killed in a road accident in May 2004.

He was killed when the motorbike, in which he was a pillion rider, dashed against a iron barricade put up on the road in Puliyangudi.

Hearing a petition seeking compensation filed by the mother, widow and two children of the deceased, the Judge, directed a national insurance company to pay the compensation to the family members.
