DAVANGERE: Members of the Youth Congress will take out a protest rally in the city and stage a demonstration in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office on Saturday to protest against the alleged misrule by the previous Government in the State. Dinesh Shetty, district youth president, and K.G. Shivakumar, senior Councillor and office-bearer of the Youth Congress, told presspersons on Thursday that the previous Janata Dal (Secular)-BJP coalition government had not sanctioned any house under Ashraya scheme . They also alleged that there was a lot of confusion regarding the distribution of ration cards to genuine beneficiaries. They said that the N. Dharam Singh Government had distributed over four lakh Ashraya houses and distributed ration cards to the needy. They said these were two important needs of the poor people and added that the coalition government had failed to provide these basic facilities to the people. Mr. Shetty also alleged that the government had failed to provide any kind of succour to people affected by the floods.
