KUMBAKONAM: Banks are now like financial supermarkets offering various products for the benefit of consumers, K. Chandrasekar, Corporate General Manager, Indian Overseas Bank, said on Thursday.
Inaugurating the renovated premises of IOB’s main branch here, he said people should take advantage of the products. IOB, jointly with insurance companies, had entered the insurance sector.
Field General Manager, IOB, P. Ramarathinam appealed to the staff to serve customers with a smile.
He asked them to mingle with the clients to retain them.
Chief Regional Manager, IOB, T. Veerappan, said the main branch was doing business of Rs.100 crore. Most of the town’s customers residing abroad had their account with the branch. For the Thanjavur and Nagapattinam branches, it was the only recognised branch to conduct foreign exchange business.
Mr. Chandrasekar distributed school bags to orphan students.
