Corrections and clarifications

The second paragraph in a report “NELP-VII launch on Dec. 13” (“Business” page, December 11, 2007) was: “[Steel baron] Mr. Mittal had already joined hands with Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) to set up a mega oil refinery complex at Bhatinda in Punjab at a cost of Rs. 19,000 crore and another one at Vizag in Andhra Pradesh ….” It should have been Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL). L.N. Mittal had signed an MoU in October 2007 with HPCL, the Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL), Oil India Limited (OIL) and Total of France to set up a $6-billion refinery and petrochemical complex at Vizag. Mittal had earlier picked up a 49 per cent stake in HPCL’s nine-million-tonnes Guru Gobind Singh Refinery at Bhatinda.
