An afterthought: Congress

NEW DELHI: The Congress on Thursday described as “a compulsion and an afterthought” the appeal put out by the former Prime Minister, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, to the people of Gujarat to vote for the BJP.

Congress spokesman Shakeel Ahmed said: “If this appeal is genuine, then it is clearly an afterthought, after questions were raised in the media about Mr. Vajpayee writing an appeal to the voters in Himachal Pradesh and not in Gujarat.”
