FIDE-rated chess

MANGALORE: South Kanara District Chess Association is organising a Mangalore State open FIDE-rated chess tournament at the Karnataka Bank auditorium, Kodialbail, here from January 5.

The five-day tournament offers a cash prize of Rs. 60,000. The winner will get Rs. 15,000 and a trophy. In addition, the top two players from boys and girls sections (u-7, u-9, u-11, u-13 and u-15) will receive cash prizes and trophies. For registration, contact 98450-32598 or 99642-15099.
