NEW DELHI: Defending champion Indian Air Force, New Delhi, scored its first win of the season, struggling past Mughals 3-2 in a group B league match of the ONGC-SAIL Delhi Soccer Association’s senior division football championship at the Ambedkar Stadium here on Thursday. The Air Force team opened its account in the 42nd minute after a barren first half. T.T.S. Stephen put Air Force ahead and W. P. Singh made it 2-0 in the 62nd minute. But Mughals shot back through striker Shekhar Khanna (63rd) and Mughals’ outside-left Amit Rawat levelled the scores in the 76th minute. Substitute Manish Negi scored in injury time as Indian Air Force scraped through. In a group A match, Indian National FC registered its third straight win beating Bangadarshan 3-0. Nigerian striker Anthony scoring in the 32nd and 72nd minutes. In between, Lalit Rawat (66th) struck as the hapless Bangadarshan looked on. — Principal Correspondent
