Courting controversy
Tennis sensation Sania Mirza seems to have landed herself in a fresh controversy. Just when it looked as if the tennis star had managed to keep things under control, out came a fresh row over her shooting for an advertisement at the historic Mecca Masjid in the old city.
This time, the Minorities Welfare Department filed a case against her and the agency for which Sania was shooting the ad. The MIM also had some harsh words for the tennis player accusing her of hurting sentiments of a particular cross-section of society.
It’s a pity that a talent like Sania Mirza is in the news for all the wrong reasons, other than her tennis.
