7,000 acres for landless

CM to inaugurate the land distribution programme So far 15,000 acres distributed in Mahabubnagar
MAHABUBNAGAR: The total available cultivable land would be distributed to the landless poor in the State, said the Minister for Revenue Relief and Rehabilitation, Dhramana Prasada Rao. He inaugurated Tahasil office building, Ambedkar youth building at Veldanda mandal headquarters in Mahabubnagar district on Thursday.
Addressing on the occasion the Minister informed that the fourth phase land distribution programme would be held on January 19 at Tirupati. The programme would be inaugurated by the Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy. He said that so far 15,000 acres were distributed in Mahabubangar district and steps are being taken to distribute another 7,000 acres. The Minister further informed that the State government is distributing 50 per cent land to SC, STs and the remaining to other communities. Further, he said that to improve the income of the women the government is giving pattas in their name.
