HELLO!: Actor Malavika Avinash at The Hindu MetroPlus Lifestyle Show at RBANMS School Grounds in Bangalore on Thursday.

BANGALORE: For all those who want to indulge in an end-of-the-year splurge, here is a brilliant occasion. South India’s largest consumer fair, The Hindu MetroPlus Lifestyle Show 2007, at the RBANMS School grounds, is back in the city for the second time in as many years. It has goodies for everyone.

The grounds have been transformed into a maze of stalls showcasing a variety of products catering to every shopper’s taste — from the well-heeled to the college student. For those who want to furnish their new homes, to those who want new cars in their garages, heading out to the fair would indeed be worthwhile.

Several rows of designer furniture, made from material ranging from leather and suede to steel and wood, are on display in trendy and traditional styles. Fitness freaks will enjoy the stalls that stock the latest range of fitness equipment for sale.

For those who fancy fragrances, visiting stall displaying the Chennai-based Ahsan Perfumes brand is a must. Perfumes with wide-ranging essence are yours to pick. The international flavour to the exhibition comes from the stalls put up by craftsmen from Thailand. Hand-made colourful jewellery, neck pieces made from coconut shells, candles and incense cones are some of the products on sale. An interesting collection of jute products and jewellery are a definite lure. Actor Malavika Avinash inaugurated the exhibition on Thursday. The event is presented by Samsung, in collaboration with Chevrolet, Surprisingly Jute and Ahsan Perfumes. It is on till December 17, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
