THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: District Collector N. Ayyappan on Thursday exhorted government officials to utilise modern technological tools to improve service standards. Inaugurating a workshop for gram panchayat presidents organised as part of the Akshaya e-literacy programme, he said the delay in tracing files was one of the major reasons for the deficiency of service in government offices. Akshaya director V.A. Ajithkumar said the e-literacy programme taken up by the agency had helped remove the technophobia that was hampering the development of information technology in Kerala. Chairperson of the Neyyatinkara municipality Priyamvada, Deputy District Planning Officer Sadanandan and Akshaya zonal coordinator Ravi were present.
