Kidnapped girl rescued

Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI: A 23-year-old man who allegedly kidnapped a six-year-old girl from outside her school at Burari on Wednesday has been arrested by the North Delhi police.

The police received a complaint from Rampal Singh alleging that his daughter Neha had gone missing from her school on Wednesday. Suspecting that she had been kidnapped, the Timarpur police registered a case and took up investigations.

Enquiries from Neha’s classmates revealed that she was last seen with a young man named Sonu whom she had been addressing as her maternal uncle. The police mounted raids and arrested the accused when he along with Neha was about to board a bus to Bulandshahr.

During interrogation, Sonu allegedly disclosed that about six months ago, he met the victim’s mother in Bulandshahr.
