Vaikunda Ekadasi: Mayor inspect works

TIRUCHI: Mayor Sarubala R. Tondaiman and Corporation Commissioner T.T. Balsamy on Wednesday inspected the preparatory works being carried out to create additional amenities in connection with the coming ‘Vaikunda Ekadasi’ festival at Srirangam.

The Mayor and the Commissioner inspected road repair works in Gandhi Road, railway station road, underground drainage repair works in Nelson road besides inspecting the removal of sand from the Chithirai and North Chithirai streets, a Corporation press release said.

They also inspected the road laying work at Keezha Adayavalanjan street and Butterworth Road at a cost of Rs 25 lakhs each and the road laying work at Pulimandapam road.

Earlier, they inspected the Central bus stand where expansion work is underway and instructed the officials to expedite the work.
