Contempt notice to Chief Secretary
Staff Reporter
BANGALORE: The Karnataka High Court on Thursday ordered issue of notices to the Chief Secretary and Adviser to the Governor on a contempt petition filed by the Pramod Layout Residents’ Welfare Association of Bangalore.
A Division Bench comprising Justice K. Sreedhar Rao and Justice Ravi B. Naik ordered issue of notices to Nandi Infrastructure Corridor Enterprise (NICE), the Chief Secretary and others for allegedly disobeying court directions on the implementation of the Bangalore-Mysore Expressway project.
The petitioners alleged that the link road alignment for the Bangalore-Mysore Infrastructure Corridor cleared by the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board did not pass through their layout at Pantarpalya. However, in 2004, NICE, they alleged, revised the alignment.
