60,000 bed sheets for social welfare hostels

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: The NTR Memorial Trust has said that it has so far despatched 60,000 bed sheets for free distribution to students of social welfare hostels in the State.

Refuting a statement of Finance Minister K. Rosaiah that the bed sheets were distributed in only one village in Adilabad, the managing trustee N. Chandrababu Naidu stated in a press release that the material procured from different parts of the country was in fact despatched to ten districts. The trust was also distributing blankets across the State.

The trust was engaged in the work round-the-clock with volunteers various organisations. The leaders of Telugu Desam supplemented the efforts of the trust by distributing one lakh bed sheets separately.

Instead of appreciating the good work, Mr. Rosaiah issued a false, misleading and factually incorrect statement, Mr. Naidu said.
