No child labour: Minister
Special Correspondent
NEW DELHI: Union Rural Development Minister Raghuvansh Prasad Singh on Thursday denied reports of child labour on his brother’s field in Bihar as reported by some television channels and newspapers.
He told journalists here that the episode was “stage-managed.” The credibility of the Fourth Estate had been damaged as it had reported news without ascertaining the facts.
Reading out a report prepared by the Assistant Labour Commissioner, he said it cleared him of all charges as the two children — Sonelal Kumar and Chander Kumar — had confessed to have taken Rs.20 each to pose for the camera.
