ASN College, MMK bag titles

VIJAYAWADA: Tenali’s ASN College and Vijayawada’s Montessori Mahila Kalasala (MMK) won the men’s and women’s titles respectively in the 31st Nagarjuna University inter-collegiate athletic meet, which concluded here on Thursday.

ASN had 52 points while MMK finished with 90. Md. Baba of Tadikonda’s BSSB College and A. Usha Choudary of MMK won the individual crowns with 23 and 28 points respectively.

The results: Men: 200m: 1. Md. Baba (BSSBC) 23.05s, 2. D. Avinash (ASNDC), 3. M. Prasanna Kumar (Dr ZHC); 400m hurdles: 1. D. Mohan Rao (ASNC) 59.87s, 2. T. Ganga Vara Prasad (TJPSC), 3. Sk. Mansoor (TJPSC); 4x100m relay: 1. ASN College (46.40s), 2. ANU, 3. TJPSC; 4x400m relay: 1. ASN College, 2. SVKPC, 3. TJPSC.

High jump: 1. Rajanish (SVKPC) 1.73m, 2. Suloman Raj (AJCE), 3. Kumar Reddy (KVR & MVR); Triple jump: 1. Md. Baba 12.84m, 2. R. Ramesh Kumar (ANU), 3. Subrahmanyam (TJPSC); Hammer throw: 1. S. Raju (ANU) 35.13m, 2. Naresh (KVRC), 3. Vijay (GDC, Avanigadda).

Women: 200m: 1. T. Swathi (MMK) 28.84s, 2. Sk. Reshma (Satavahana), 3. Venkataravamma (ACC);

Ashwin hits century

Ashwin’s unbeaten century (100 n.o.) helped ACA XI score 324 for five in 105 overs at close on the second day of the three-day ACA under-13 team selection match at Guntur on Thursday.

The scores: GDCA 267 vs. ACA XI 324 for five in 105 overs (Ashwin 100 n.o, Sooraj Preetam 77 n.o, T.V. Dinesh 41, V. Kumar four for 64).

Easy for Kattamalli XI

Kattamalli XI scored a facile eight-wicket victory over Lions CC in the KDCA ‘B’ division league, for the Devineni Venkataramana-Praneetha Memorial Trophy, here on Thursday.

The scores:

Venky CC 119 in 34.2 overs (Ranga four for 28, Srinivas three for 21) lost to Railway ‘B’ 121 for six in 27.1 overs (Srinu 40 n.o., Murali four for 30).

Lions CC 129 in 27.5 overs (Ayub four for 43, Manju four for 18) lost to Kattamalli XI 130 for two in 16.5 overs (Ayub 81).
