Lamp lighting ceremony of J.J. Institute of Nursing inaugurated

GLOW OF HOPE: V. Ramamoorthy, Deputy Director, Medical Services, Pudukkottai, inaugurating the ceremony at J.J. Institute of Nursing.
PUDUKOTTAI: ‘Light Fest-2007,’ the lamp lighting ceremony of J.J. Institute of Nursing that marks the initiation of first year nursing students into nursing education, was celebrated here on Thursday.
Deputy Director of Medical Services, Pudukottai district, V. Ramamoorthy was the chief guest and he lighted the first lamp to mark the inauguration of the ceremony.
In his special address, Dr. Ramamoorthy insisted that nursing students should develop qualities such as love, loyalty, responsibility and compassion.
In her presidential address, college trustee Kavitha Subramanian emphasised the need to develop character and virtuous qualities in life to excel and achieve the desired goals in the field.
Kose Bevi, grade II nursing superintendent, Government Headquarters Hospital, administered the pledge to the students.
Vice-principal Janaki presented the annual report.
Principal of J.J. College of Arts and Science J. Parasuraman and M.K. Makalakshmi, lecturer, offered felicitations.
