Naidu holds a series of roadside meetings in Medak district

SANGAREDDY: The Telugu Desam, if voted to power, will scrap all the land deals entered by the Congress government,” party president Nara Chandrababu Naidu announced at a road show near BHEL on Friday.Addressing party cadre and industrial workers before embarking on a two-day ‘Eruvaka’ programme in Medak district, he alleged that the Congress Government had allotted land valued at Rs. 1 lakh crore to 250 persons who were close to the Chief Minister. “If we come back to power, we will restore this land to the poor who are the real owners,” he said.

Making a plethora of promises to various sections of society, he said he would abolish all cooperative agricultural loans, de-ink toddy from the control of the Excise Department, extend loans at low interest to farmers, extend the Hyderabad Metro rail up to Sangareddy and allow a dole of Rs. 1,000 each to the unemployed and the disabled.

Coming down heavily on the pro-rich policies of the Government, he said that the wealth created by his Government’s policies in and around Hyderabad had not trickled down to the poor as he had anticipated.

Loan scheme

Later addressing another road side meeting in Patancheru he promised the industrial workers that he would convert the pollution prone area into a ‘hi-tech’ zone.

TDP cadre, which made elaborate arrangements all the way from BHEL to Pedda Shankarampet of Andole mandal, were happy at the public response to Mr. Naidu’s roadshow as it attracted huge crowds even in Sangareddy where TRS also staged a similar show few days ago. Large number of farmers along with their bullock carts, sheep rearers and fishermen attended the road show.
