Defence plea rejected in Katara case
Staff Reporter
NEW DELHI: The trial court hearing the Nitish Katara murder case on Friday rejected the defence’ plea seeking adjournment till next year for advancing final arguments in the case.
Additional Sessions Judge Ravinder Kaur told the defence counsels, G. K. Bharti and S. K. Sharma representing the main accused, that they would have to begin advancing final arguments in December itself.
The Judge fixed December 20 and December 22 as the next dates of hearing in the case. She told the defence counsels that all other cases have been adjourned just to ensure recording of final arguments by the defence in this case. Special Public Prosecutor B. S. Joon also opposed the defence’ plea seeking adjournment in the case. The prosecution had already finished the final arguments on December 6.
