Jaipur to host world tourism mart

JAIPUR: Rajasthan will be hosting its first-ever international tourism mart in Jaipur from April 21 to 23. To be known as the Great Indian Travel Bazaar 2008, the mega-mart will be organized by the Union Ministry of Tourism, the Department of Tourism, Rajasthan and Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI). Leading national and regional trade associations such as Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO), Hotel & Restaurant Association of Rajasthan (HRAR) and Indian Heritage Hotels Association (IHHA) are supporting the event.

The first road show to market the event is being held at Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur on Saturday. The leading tour operators, travel agencies and hoteliers of the region have been invited. Mira Mehrishi, president of IHHA and Principal secretary, Rajasthan Tourism, Gaj Singh, former ruler of Jodhpur and Jai Singh, head, FICCI Rajasthan, will join the road show.
