THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: German institutions are looking for collaboration in opening Ayurveda treatment centres in Germany, the Consul General of Federal Republic of Germany in Bangalore, Stefan Graf, has said. The Consul General said that institutions in Germany were keen on acquiring know-how on Ayurvedic treatment. Many Germans come to Kerala for the treatment. Regarding trade relations, Mr. Graf said that Germany was the right place for Indian business houses to extend businesses. German technology could be adapted to solve waste management problems in Kerala. “Germany has expertise in waste management and water treatment. Our know-how is well-accepted,” he said. Collaborative projects in waste management were underway in Karnataka. CollaborationReferring to collaboration between Germany and India in science and technology, especially biotechnology and nanotechnology, he said that German diplomatic missions in India brought institutions in the two countries together. It was for the institutions to draw up projects in various areas. Science ExpressHe said that the ‘Science Express’ train, an Indo-German mobile exhibition touring the country, was featuring science scenario in Germany (and India). The train would reach Kerala in March next year. Mr. Graf, who was on a two-day visit to the city, called on Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan on Friday. Official sources described the meeting as a courtesy call.
