CHENNAI: Arun Maribashetty astride CJ15 emerged the overall winner in the Category ‘A’ event of the LMW FEI World jumping challenge at Mohite Stadium, Officers Training Academy, here on Thursday. The first round of Category A had 33 riders. Havildar Basumatay on Pralya emerged second while Risaldar Bhagirath on Glandyl Wolf came third. Sixteen-year-old Bhargava did a decent job finishing fifth competing with much senior riders in Category ‘B’ of the World Challenge. Astride Fereneze, Bhargava did not allow panic to get the better of him in his maiden entry in the Nationals. Major Rohit Dagar on Taqdeer finished first in Category ‘B’. Meanwhile, the Panasonic National equestrian championship began on Friday with technical jumping novice normal competition. Fifteen five riders took part in the event. The results (FEI World jumping challenge): Category ‘A’: Overall championship: 1. Arun Maribashetty (CJ15), 2. Major Ravi Rathod (Remarkable), 3. Lt. Col. Deep Ahlawat (Mirza), 4. Major Salim Pathan (Arjun). Category ‘B’: 1. Major Rohit Dagar (Taqdeer), 2. Havildar Basumatay (Pralya), 3. Risaldar Bhagirath on Glandyl Wolf, 4. Aditya Krishna (My Lady), 5.
