DHARWAD: Last year’s runner-up KE Board’s High School, Dharwad and St Paul’s High School, Hubli won their respective super-league matches in the 2nd “Saptagiri Trophy” under-15 inter schools cricket tournament at the RN Shetty Stadium, Dharwad on Friday. A splendid 121 second wicket partnership between skipper Shreyas Murdeshwar(74) and Shashank Hulamani(50) helped KE Board’s HS to its victory. It defeated the reigning champion Basel Mission English Medium High School, Dharwad by 47 runs. St Paul’s HS meanwhile registered its second win defeating Rotary English Medium High School, Hubli by 8 wickets. The scores: KE Board’s HS, Dharwad 190 for five in 25 overs (Shreyas Murdeshwar 74, Shashank Hulamani 50) bt BMEMHS, Dharwad 143 for nine in 25 overs (Prateek Kulkarni 75 n.o., Nitish Shetty four for 21). Rotary EMHS, Hubli 148 for eight in 25 overs (Ramachandra Hegde 44, Vivek Savalagi 42) lost to St Paul’s HS, Hubli 149 for two in 23.1 overs (Kumaresh 49, Sushant Masalawad 31 n.o.). — Staff Correspondent
