Cavalry Black wins

NEW DELHI: Argentine rider Santiago Cernada and Malaysian price Tunku Ismail Ibrahim pounded in goals as Cavalry Black defeated Army Polo and Riding Club (APRC) 9-2 to score its second straight win in Pool ‘B’ league in the Amity Cup eight-goal polo tournament at the Jaipur Polo Ground here on Friday.

Cernada fired four goals while Ibrahim slotted in three as the Cavalry team opened up a huge lead.

J.S. Virk scored two to add to APRC’s misery. Abhimanyu Pathak was the lone scorer for APRC, who twice converted 30-yard penalties in the second and third chukkers. — Principal Correspondent
