Naval ships take rice to Bangladesh

The Eastern Naval Command (ENC) here is transporting 5,000 tonnes of rice donated by the Indian Government to the grief-stricken Bangladesh people, affected by recent super cyclone.

The first consignment of 1,750 tonnes of rice was delivered by naval ships – Gharial, Kumbhir, Cheetah and Mahish, which sailed from Visakhapatnam, on December 8 at Chittagong. An ENC press release said the ships would continue to sail and complete the operation in January till the entire quantity is delivered.
