Two killed, six injured in accidents
Staff Reporter
NEW DELHI: Two persons were killed and six injured in separate accidents in the Capital on Friday. The injured include three women.
Preetam Meena (28), a resident of Jehangirpuri, was killed and four persons were injured when a mini bus carrying around 20 people overturned at Seelampur around 1 p.m. The injured, including helper Javed, were taken to a nearby hospital.
According to eyewitnesses, the driver lost control over the wheel in a bid to overtake a mini-truck, hit the central verge and the bus overturned.
Some passengers alleged that the driver was in inebriated state and was driving rashly. The bus has been impounded and the driver is absconding.
In a hit-and-run case, a sports car hit a cycle from behind near Gate No. 5 of the High Court around 6 p.m. killing Dharampal (40) and seriously injuring his wife Vimla (35).
The two-year-old daughter of the couple escaped without any injury. The car then went on to hit Ajit Ram (35), a Class IV employee at the court, while he was coming out of Gate No. 4.
He sustained serious injuries. Both the injured have been taken to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital.
