HYDERABAD: The government seems to be very cautious in giving an undertaking to the AP High Court on introducing Special Protection Force at all the teaching hospitals in the twin cities. “There are huge financial constraints involved in this task. We have to take advice from all top health experts before committing on this issue. Moreover, we already have a police outpost at major hospitals like Gandhi Hospital. The issue has to be discussed with the Chief Minister,” said Minister for Medical Education Galla Aruna Kumari. ‘Not against doctors’Ahmed Pasha Quadri, an eye witness said: “I was standing by the body of the woman and had no idea who attacked the doctors and vandalised the hospital. We are not against the doctors, we are only demanding justice. ”— Ahmed Pasha Quadri No medication given
“We got her admitted in the hospital on December 11. Since then, they had not even administered her glucose. It was only yesterday that we came to know that the baby in her womb was dead. They asked me to sign some forms and I did just that. Still they did not give any medication to my sister. Today, suddenly she suffered fits and I rushed to alert the doctors. Only after her fits, the doctors gave drugs and tried to give glucose to her,” says Syed Jameel, brother of the deceased Ready to quitAPJUDA president G. Raju says: “We are ready to submit our resignations after this incident. We can’t perform normally under such conditions. Despite assurances from the High Court, were attacked today. Who will protect us ?”
