Man fatally hit by train

He was crossing railway track near Pazhavanthangal

TAMBARAM: A man, about 35 years old, was killed on the spot after being hit by an electric train when he was crossing the railway tracks near the Pazhavanthangal Railway Station on Friday .

The Tambaram Government Railway Police, who are investigating, said Dhanasekar, belonging to Vandavasi in Tiruvannamalai district, had come to Chennai in search of a job.

He was crossing the track near the railway station, when he was hit by an electric train bound for Tambaram. He fell inside the vehicular subway near the station and was killed on the spot.

His body was shifted to the Chromepet Government for postmortem.
