Talks to improve conduct of local body polls held

REVIEW: State Election Commissioner D. Chandrasekaran, right, chairing a meeting with district officials in Tiruchi on Saturday.

TIRUCHI: State Election Commissioner D. Chandrasekaran held consultations on carrying out improvements in the conduct of local body elections with district officials here on Friday.

Mr. Chandrasekaran discussed the feasibility of the use of electronic voting machines for local body polls and issues relating to the expenditure of candidates contesting the polls.

Collector Ashish Vachhani, Corporation Commissioner T.T. Balsamy, Superintendent of Police N. Rajasekaran and Municipal officials attended the meeting.
