Thiruvananthapuram: The Museum police have said that the two KSEB officials who were sent for medical examination on Wednesday to ascertain whether they were drunk have not consumed alcohol. The KSEB Vigilance wing sought the medical examination after a consumer, H. Sajad Saheer, complained that the officials assaulted him in a “drunken” state at the KSEB’s Cantonment section office at PMG. Quoting the certificate of drunkenness issued by the medical examiner under section 51 of the Kerala Police Act, 1960, the police said the doctor opined that “there is nothing to suggest that the persons (the two KSEB officials) had consumed alcohol at the time of examination”. The KSEB disconnected Mr. Sajad’s power connection on Tuesday on the charge of not paying his bill. He remitted the bill at 10 a.m. on Wednesday. He went to the KSEB office at 2.30 p.m. to complain that power had not been restored. P. Visakh, assistant engineer, KSEB Cantonment section, said Mr. Saheer’s accusations were false. He said none of the staff were drunk. He said KSEB field workers got the list of connections that need to be restored only after 3 p.m. He accused Mr. Sajad of misbehaving with KSEB officials.
