Modification plea dismissed

CHENNAI: A modification petition, filed by AIADMK MP N. Jothi, seeking deletion of an anticipatory condition that he deposit over Rs. 10 lakh, was dismissed by the Madras High Court on Friday.

Justice T. Sudanthiram said it was not possible for the court to review the earlier order, dated December 3, “on the basis of the facts stated in the modification petition.”

He said: “As there is no appeal or review or revision against the order passed by the single judge in a criminal matter, the request made by the petitioner to post the matter before some other judge is also turned down.”
