CAN, MBP post wins

VIJAYAWADA: Cricket Association of Nuzvid (CAN) defeated RLCC by six wickets in the KDCA ‘B’ division league tournament here on Friday.

In another match MBP XI registered a 54-run victory over Modern Academy XI.

The scores: RLCC 146 in 32.5 overs (Nagababu four for 29) lost to Cricket Association of Nuzvid 147 for four in 29 overs (Sreeramulu 53 n.o.).

MBP XI 151 in 31.5 overs (Prasad 43, Ashok six for 20) bt Modern Academy 98 in 17.4 overs (Pandu four for 20).

Match drawn

The three-day selection match between ACA XI and GDCA XI ended in a draw at the Loyola Public School grounds at Guntur on Friday.

The scores: GDCA 267 and 164 for six in 48 overs (Tejeswar 57, Surendra Babu 56) drew with ACA XI 379 in 118 overs (Ashwin 100, S. Preetham 79, Vinil Kumar four for 64).

Prasad to lead

R.L.V. Prasad will lead the Acharya Nagarjuna University cricket team in the South Zone inter-university tournament to be held at Chennai from January 23, 2008.
