Gautier, Ebony form venture

NEW DELHI: French home furnishing retailer Gautier on Friday announced that it has tied up with domestic firm Ebony to form a joint venture to set up exclusive home decor stores with an initial investment of Rs. 120 crore over the next two years.

The Ebony Gautier joint venture will, to start with, set up around 20 home adornment stores spread between 20,000 and 40,000 sq. ft. in North India and West India to sell contemporary furniture, furnishing and home decor products.

“The entire range of authentic Gautier products would be made available to the Indian consumers in an internationally benchmarked retail environment,” Gautier Chairman and Managing Director, Dominique Soulard, said at the media meet called to announce the tie-up.

Ebony Retail Director, Manhad Narula, said, “We have entered into a strategic tie-up with Gautier by setting up a joint venture. The French company will provide expertise and products while Ebony will make financial investment besides providing the retail experience.”
