Ganguly in top 20
Dubai: Sourav Ganguly, following his outstanding performances against Pakistan, entered the top-20 of the ICC Test rankings for batsmen for the first time in seven years.
The left-hander, who won the ‘man of the series’ award, jumped four places to 20th in the ICC list. However, Sachin Tendulkar dropped a rung to 19th.
On the bowling front, Indian captain Anil Kumble moved up two places to fifth in the bowlers’ list. Irfan Pathan’s maiden Test hundred pushed him to the sixth spot in the all-rounders’ rankings behind Sri Lanka’s Chaminda Vaas. — PTI
