“Maoist” posters put up by police: Mamata

Staff Reporter

KOLKATA: The posters signed by the Communist Party of India (Maoist) that were found pasted on the walls of the West Bengal Secretariat here on Friday have been put up by the police themselves, claimed Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee on Saturday. “The entire thing is a rumour…the posters have been put up by the police themselves,” she said, speaking to newspersons.

Pointing out that the CPI (Maoist) was a Leftist organisation, she sought to know why it was not being banned in West Bengal if the State government had information that the outfit was engaging in terrorist activities.
