MALAPPURAM: Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) State general secretary P.K. Kunhalikutty has demanded that the State leadership of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) apologise for the attack on journalists during the CPI(M) district conference held in Malappuram recently. Inaugurating a meeting organised by the Muslim Youth League here on Saturday, Mr. Kunhalikutty said that the CPI(M), which ruled for more than 30 years in West Bengal, had cheated the minorities. Mr. Kunhalikutty said the Smart City project , which the CPI(M) currently flaunts, was part of the Global Investor Meet organised when he was the Minister for Industries. IUML leaders M. Ummer, MLA, K.N.A. Khader, P. Ubaidullah, and P.V. Mohammed Areekode were among those who addressed the gathering.
