Restore designated vehicle to official: DC

DAVANGERE: Deputy Commissioner of Davangere district M.B. Dyaberi has asked the chief executive officer of the zilla panchayat to get back the multi-utility vehicle meant for the Deputy Director of Animal Husbandry, from the president of the panchayat.

At the public grievances meeting held here on Saturday, Mr. Dyaberi asked the Deputy Director of Animal Husbandry whether he had got back his vehicle from the zilla panchayat president, to which he replied in the negative. Mr. Dyaberi immediately asked the chief executive officer to ensure that the vehicle was restored so that the official could visit villages and attend meetings.

The Deputy Director said he could discharge his duties effectively only if a vehicle was at his disposal. He further said that he could procure different kinds of animal breeds from the University of Veterinary Sciences, Bangalore, and distribute them to people.

Action

Mr. Dyaberi said stringent action would be taken for non-compliance with instructions issued.

He also had a bus pass issued to a physically challenged applicant within an hour. Earlier, the beneficiary had complained to the Deputy Commissioner that he had applied for a pass a month ago, but was made to run from pillar to post for the same. Mr. Dyaberi directed officials of the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation to issue the pass to the person immediately. Mr. Dyaberi also asked the Deputy Director of Food and Civil supplies to ensure that kerosene be given to all beneficiaries at definite intervals.
