FUTURE PLANS: Sourav Ganguly, seen with daughter Sana at a felicitation function in Kolkata on Saturday, hopes to continue his recent good form on the tour of Australia. KOLKATA: Former India captain Sourav Ganguly hopes his great run with the bat continues when India tours Australia later this month. “It feels good to be among the runs. I hope the form continues,” he said, while talking to the media during a book launch here on Saturday. Ganguly felt there was no point in predicting the outcome of the tour. “What is going to matter is the performance. The team has to do well consistently and on my part I have no specific plans for the tour. My mind will be tuned to perform to the best of my ability,” he said. The best sideHe did admit that Australia was the best one-day side. “We have to go out there and play our best cricket,” he said. Ganguly said this Indian side was capable of doing well regardless of the opposition. Apart from the four Tests against Australia, India will also be involved in a tri-series ODI also featuring Sri Lanka. On his 100th Test appearance, which is likely to be in Melbourne, Ganguly said, “It will be a special feeling for me. But I will ensure it does not stay at the back of my mind when I go out to play the first Test. I will try and score runs as only that matters,” he felt and added the famous Aussie sledging would not be a problem for the Indians. “We are a professional team and we know how to handle such a situation,” he said. India will begin the tour with a three-day warm-up match against Victoria at Melbourne on December 20.
