Another defeat for Raunak

HYDERABAD: For former National champion Raunak Vazirani this edition doesn’t seem to be a happy outing for after a disappointing show he suffered yet another defeat when Ameer Hussain got the better of him 453-388 in the junior billiards main draw preliminary round of the Seaways Group-sponsored National billiards and snooker championship at Kotla Vijaya Bhaskara Reddy Indoor Stadium here on Saturday.

It maybe recalled that Raunak had suffered a shock defeat at the hands of Malkeet Singh of Uttar Pradesh in the snooker event earlier in this championship.

If he thought he would make amends, then Ameer Hussain proved to be another hurdle. For Ameer was the better player today in crunch time with a superior display of the top of the table game. The consistency with which he scored points when it mattered most separated him from the loser.
