THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The government has issued guidelines to provide broadband Internet connection to high schools. Accordingly, government schools, excluding adopted schools and those with less than 100 students, will have to pay Rs.1,000 every year to IT@School, while the rate for aided schools is fixed at Rs.4,000. The monthly free download has been limited to 3 GB. Additional download will be priced at 80 paise per GB. Recognised unaided schools can join the scheme by paying an annual fee of Rs.5,000. The government has published the list of high schools to be provided with broadband internet connection.The list is available on the website www.education.kerala.gov.in
