ATA invites work from authors and artists
HYDERABAD: The American Telugu Association (ATA) has invited authors, poets and artists to send their literary and artistic works for publication in souvenir to be brought out in connection with ATA world conference. The works include stories, essays, poems, plays, songs, jokes, photo essays and drawings.
The conference, the tenth, on the theme of ‘Telugu talliki haaram, yuvataraniki dwaram’, is to be organised in July 2008 in New York. March 31 is the last date for submitting the entries.
Five first prizes of Rs.10,000 and ten second prizes of Rs.4,000 (for short stories and plays)and five first prizes of Rs,4,000 and ten second prizes of Rs.2,000 (for poems) will be given away. For songs there will be five first prizes of Rs. 4,000.
According to the release, the submitted material is to be used as resource for the Telugu associations in the US. The entries are to be sent to Sreenadh at 15 Buckingham Drive, Dix Hills, New York 11746. An Indian address is to be published shortly for the convenience of residents in India.
