Lions Club plans to eradicate blindness

BHADRAVATI: Lions District Governor B.S. Nagaprakash said here on Saturday that the Lions International had taken several steps to eradicate the blindness completely in the world in the next 12 years.
Addressing the club members of the local Lions Club during his visit here, he said the Lions International had proposed to spend $150 million to $ 200 million dollars for eradication of blindness in the world and added that it had mobilised nearly $ 132 million dollars from various sources for this purpose.
Mr. Nagaprakash said that the Lions District had launched a programme to promote rural development, education, AIDS awareness, security to senior citizens and health for all through the slogan “challenge for social changes.”
