Protest against police inaction

PANAJI: The Goan journalists and citizens’ bodies on Sunday registered their protest with the Goa Police over the failure of the police to investigate with seriousness the case of the death of a young photojournalist, who died around a fortnight ago after he was knocked down by a speeding vehicle.
In a hit-and-run case, Sushant Naik, a photojournalist with a vernacular daily, was flung off his scooter resulting in his instant death. The police is yet to arrest the culprit and seize the vehicle involved in the accident. A memorandum submitted to the police on Sunday by the father of the deceased,
Sunil Naik, a senior photojournalist, expressed complete shock and anguish over the lackadaisical attitude manifested by the police in investigating the case.
