12 bulk milk units in Chittoor district

CHITTOOR: The work on the construction of buildings for the bulk milk centres would be hastened so as to accommodate the collection of targeted milk of 1.5 lakh litres per day, according to Collector S S Rawat.
Talking to media persons here on Saturday he said that at present 23 bulk milk centres were functioning in the district with a collection of 70,000 ltrs of milk everyday. Another 12 centres would be opened during in January next year. Under Vijaya diary seven units at PTM, Vayalpadu, Mulkalacheruvu, Peddamandyam, Ramasamudram, Nimmanapalle and Madanapalle would function Common facility centre was sanctioned at Srikalahastri under Kalankari special project. For this a suitable building to house 50 workers at a time would be constructed in consultation with the engineers. Necessary action would be taken to develop the centre under Grama Swarajya Jayanthi, the Collector said.
