Mathura: The hunger strike by the members of Bharatiya Kisan Union (Arajnaitik) was called off on Sunday following a dialogue with the district administration. According to the District Magistrate Anita C. Meshram, farmers’ demands like reducing the fee of Nalkoop connection, increasing the compensation amount for acquisition of land for the Taj Express Highway and increasing the supply of fertilizers have been referred to the government. The BKU members were on hunger strike from last two days demanding adequate supply of fertilizers, water for irrigation, extension in the duration of power supply in the rural areas, proper cleaning of Lalpur Nagala Bhuria canal.
