Protest by gram panchayat employees
DAVANGERE: Gram panchayat employees working in different parts of the State have resolved to stage an indefinite dharna from December 18, at Bangalore, to address their long-standing demands.
K.L. Bhat, president of the Davangere district gram panchayat employees’ association has, in a statement, said that the government had not yet implemented the minimum wages to employees despite repeated pleas to the government. Too much work was being extracted from the employees and they were not being given minimum wages, provident fund or gratuity. Hundreds of GP employees from Davangere are expected to take part in the agitation.
